Purchase Double Glazing In Bristol In Readiness For Higher Energy Bills

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

If you thought the cost of your fuel bills may stabilise or even drop this coming winter then we have bad news for you. Experts are warning that the price of wholesale gas is set to soar by possibly as much as 28 per cent due to the earthquake suffered in Japan last year after supplies of liquefied natural gas were sent to the Far East to compensate for the closure of nuclear power reactors.

It is being predicted that the after-effects of this move could be felt in the UK well into 2013 which could well mean that fuel poverty figures continue to increase and homeowners are given no other choice but to sacrifice heat in the home even when they need it most. This could then result in the health of many being put at risk.

Over the coming months, many of us will save vast quantities…

Landlords Advised To Install Energy Efficient Measures

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

The UK rental market is extremely competitive at the moment due to an increase in the number of people looking to rent and decrease in those looking to buy. This presents a great opportunity to landlords and one which they should capitalise on.

However, energy company E.ON has found that an estimated 2.4million tenants are missing out on energy savings of up to £400 a year due to the failure of landlords to install energy efficient measures. This works out at a collective £990 million a year.

More and more tenants are becoming aware of the need to be energy efficient in the home so those landlords who are failing to install double glazing in Newport really aren’t doing themselves any favours.

If you can show to tenants that you have installed a new set of windows or insulation, there may be more of a possibility…

Big Switch Deadline Put Back Till May

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

The deadline for the collective energy switching campaign Big Switch as organised by consumer group Which? has been delayed until 9th May. By this time, energy companies will have to had put forward their most competitive energy tariff as Which? looks to help homeowners with meeting the cost of their energy bills.

So far only E.ON and Co-operative Energy have confirmed that they will take part in the scheme but only after E.ON stated that they wouldn’t get involved in a price war and Co-operative Energy were told that they only had to put forward their existing best tariff so as not to alienate existing custom.

Other leading energy companies including British Gas, SSE, Ecotricity, Ovo and Utilia have already confirmed that they will not be entering the bidding process and there has been criticism from some who claim that Which? are not being transparent enough about how much they…

Ofgem Lay Down The Law To Big Six Energy Suppliers

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

Up until now the big six energy suppliers in the UK have had free licence to raise the cost of energy bills, something which they have taken full advantage of. The average annual energy bill for a UK family now stands at around £1,250 a year, double what it cost just 10 years ago and the number of people living in fuel poverty now stands at an astonishing 5.5 million.

But this could all be about to change as energy watchdog Ofgem has ordered the nation’s energy suppliers to cut their tariffs otherwise run the risk of having a mandatory cap put on prices so that householders can no longer be ‘ripped off’.

The Big Six consist of EDF, E.on, British Gas, Southern, Scottish Power and npower.

The news comes at a time when despite one of the mildest winters in recent memory, many of the major energy suppliers have…

UPVC Windows Will Help You Build Up Your Savings

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

The amount of disposable income the average UK householder has is depleting year upon year. The rising cost of living, coupled with the fact that energy prices are at their highest ever level are just a few reasons why this is currently the case for many. In such times of crisis you should be looking to make savings in some way and a buying new set of windows could be the ideal solution.

Single glazed traditional windows are one of the chief responsibilities for high energy bills as an average of 25% of heat is lost through poorly insulated windows. Draughts form in the home which then leads to homeowners cranking their heating systems up to try and compensate for it. The result? Energy bills that they can barely afford to pay and subsequently fuel poverty!

All these problems can be overcome when you install UPVC windows

Replacement Windows Cut Your Dependence On Energy

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

Expensive energy bills are a grave concern for the vast majority of UK householders as the cost of heating their property goes up on a regular basis. The more draughts become evident in the home, the more often you need to use your heating system, which then leads to energy bills spiralling out of control.

But those who do suffer with draughty windows are usually those who have yet to exchange their old windows for newer equivalents. Traditional windows simply aren’t up to the job of keeping out cold air and utilising the heat your boiler generates effectively. Rather than simply accept this, you should take the initiative and install replacement windows as soon as you can afford to.

With winter on the horizon, double glazing in Gloucester will ensure that any heat created in your home gets put to good use and…

Beat The Big Six With Double Glazing In Gloucester

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

You may have heard that Energy Minister Chris Huhne announced plans at the Liberal Democrats party conference that he intends to get tough with UK energy companies. This will be welcome news for many homeowners as all six major energy suppliers have increased their prices over the past few months.

His plans include making it easier for smaller energy suppliers to compete in the market, to improve competition and widen consumer choice. These measures are all well and good but it doesn’t get away from the fact that conventional energy is in short supply, meaning that the cost of it is unlikely to ever decrease a considerable amount.

Therefore it is up to the homeowner to take the initiative themselves and install energy efficient measures in their home such as double glazing in Gloucester. Replacement windows are a proven way of driving down the…

Replacement Windows Prevent High Energy Bills

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

The high cost of energy is leaving thousands of us out of pocket. Even when taking measures such as always ensuring that electrical appliances are switched off and investing energy saving light bulbs, a huge number of people still find themselves struggling to pay their monthly bills. But accepting high energy bills as the norm should never be an option, especially when replacing your windows helps.

It has been proven that traditional windows become less reliable when it comes to keeping out cold air and storing heat as they get older. Frames weaken and the glass simply doesn’t have the ability to deflect outside air away from your home. They also lose their aesthetic qualities as the paint starts to rot and flake away.

This is where replacement windows come in as they are certain to massively cut the cost of your fuel bills. They are so…

Utilise Fuel To Its Fullest With Replacement Windows

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

The Scottish parliament has confirmed that recent price rises in the country will make it difficult for them to achieve their goal of eradicating fuel poverty by 2016. The same problem also faces the coalition government if the major energy suppliers continue to announce price hikes. However, rather than accept this as inevitable, homeowners should be looking to take their share of responsibility.

Fuel poverty continues to be a widespread problem for many UK households, but there are ways of avoiding it such as with the addition of double glazing in Gloucester. All replacement windows are specifically-designed to promote energy efficiency in the home as they store large quantities of heat generated by conventional boilers.

Because of this, it means that homeowners can be less reliant on their heating throughout the year, but no less comfortable from a temperature perspective as new windows…
