Winter thankfully is almost at an end and spring will shortly be in full bloom. A change of season is a fantastic time to think about making modifications to your home as it can give your property a fresh appeal. Certain changes can also help you save massive amounts on energy over the coming months and beyond. We are of course referring to the idea of replacing all your existing windows.

Replacement windows will help reduce the amount of energy that is lost through your windows as a set of UPVC windows come with double glazed glass tightly sealed against the UPVC frame. This also prevents outdoor air from making its way into your home which is something that usually causes you to turn on your boiler, resulting in costly energy bills.

The average annual energy bill for a UK family now stands at around £1,250 a year, double what it cost just 10 years ago and the number of people living in fuel poverty now stands at an astonishing 5.5 million.

But this could all be about to change as energy watchdog Ofgem has ordered the nation’s energy suppliers to cut their tariffs otherwise run the risk of having a mandatory cap put on prices so that householders can no longer be ‘ripped off’.

The Big Six consist of EDF, E.on, British Gas, Southern, Scottish Power and npower.

The news comes at a time when despite one of the mildest winters in recent memory, many of the major energy suppliers have…

A Greenway Glass Extension Gives Your More Home To Love

Author: Conservatories & Double Glazing Expert  |  Leave a Comment >>

Research conducted by findaproperty.com has found that more than a quarter of UK homes are too small for its occupants. Because of the costs associated with moving home thousands of families are forced into staying in properties where space is no longer available, resulting in 24% of children left with no choice but to share a room.

29% of parents readily accept that their property is too small to live in but as property analyst for findaproperty.com Samantha Baden explains many people simply cannot afford to go elsewhere:

“Very few families can afford to buy or rent a property that meets their exact size and location requirements, and as a result, they are often forced to compromise on one or the other.”

In certain cases it may not be affordability that prevents homeowners from purchasing a larger property but it could come down to the fact that they cannot…
