The average annual energy bill for a UK family now stands at around £1,250 a year, double what it cost just 10 years ago and the number of people living in fuel poverty now stands at an astonishing 5.5 million.
But this could all be about to change as energy watchdog Ofgem has ordered the nation’s energy suppliers to cut their tariffs otherwise run the risk of having a mandatory cap put on prices so that householders can no longer be ‘ripped off’.
